Terri’s personal interests
include meditation, theoretical physics, mathematics, creative
writing and photography.
Meditation
Since early childhood, Terri has always
been interested in the practice of meditation. From teenage years to this
day, she has remained intensely involved with Vipassana meditation
practice. Her own “version” of the practice
includes the “contemplative meditative mode” during
long bike rides or cross-country ski journeys (30 km) in the
secluded paths with her dog River before the dawn hours and 2-hour
swim “sessions”. As a pleasant “un-aimed” result,
she discovered that she often sees her patients’ emotional
problems and inner struggles more clearly after her “meditation
sessions”.
Physics and Mathematics
Terri has been consistently passionate
in learning the advances of theoretical and mathematical physics. Her
most interested areas are that of quantum electrodynamics, particle
theory and cosmology. In her youth she was mesmerized
by both the physicist Richard Feynman’s work, his lectures,
and Roger Penrose’s theories on general relativity and
his censorship conjectures. Further more she was influenced
by Penrose’s controversial philosophical views on human
consciousness and artificial intelligence, which is represented
in his books: The Emperor’s New Mind, Shadows of the Mind
and The Large, the Small, and the Human Mind.
Writing
Terri occasionally writes poetry and
fables (see Writing).
Photography
Terri is a photography enthusiast (see
some of Terri’s photos).
